Who should use this Guide?
This Guide provides information for persons conducting a business or undertaking on how to manage health and safety risks associated with using and removing materials containing refractory ceramic fibres (RCF) and other high biopersistence fibres (HBF). This Guide does not cover glass, slag or rockwool fibres or fibres which pass low biopersistence tests and do not have carcinogenic potential. This Guide should be read together with the Workplace Exposure Standards for Airborne Contaminants. This document contains a list of exposure standards that apply under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulations and information about their interpretation and use.
