Glass fiber is a kind of inorganic nonmetal material with excellent performance. It has many advantages, such as good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength, but its shortcomings are brittle and poor wear resistance. It is made of glass ball or waste glass as raw material through high temperature melting, drawing, spinning, weaving and other processes. The diameter of the monofilament is from several microns to twenty microns, equivalent to the 1/20-1/5 of a hair silk. Glass fibers are usually used as reinforcing materials in composite materials, electrical insulation materials and thermal insulation materials, circuit boards and other national economic fields.
